A Statement is a Telling Sentence. It tells you something.

Statements always end in a period ".".

 

A Question is an Asking Sentence. It asks you something.

Questions always end in a question mark "?" .

 

 

An Exclamation shows emotion like being surprised or happy.

Exclamations always end in an exclamation mark "!".

Examples:

Wow!

Oh my!

Good Job!

 

A Command tells you what to do.

Commands end in periods ".".

Examples:

Read this sentence.

Make your bed.

Help your little sister.
